“You say that you love rain, but you open your umbrella when it rains. You say that you love the sun, but you find a shadow spot when the sun shines. You say that you love the wind, but you close your windows when the wind blows. This is why I am afraid, you say that you love me too.”—William Shakespeare (via ariiphotography)
Have you ever felt such a crippling pain in your heart that you could barely stand? Have you ever felt like someone took your soul, tore it to pieces, and fed it to the dogs of hell, and that life was no longer worth living. Well I have, and with the NBA still on strike this heartache is not going away anytime soon. How can I go on with my life without watching the majestic Celtics work their magic on the hardwood court? Since I spend so much of time on land I had to abandon the regular sports of Atlantis, but basketball was my salvation. Now it seems like my season tickets and foam finger are going to be out of commission and collecting dust. Why must the owners and players of the National Basketball Association torment me so? What do they except me to do, watch hockey? I’m sorry, but I am man of standards.
I GET YOU. ALL OF IT.
Minus the majestic Celtics part.
I love the NBA almost as much as I love YJ.
I’m reblogging this twice in two diff blogs…I miss NBA so much it hurts.
Going overseas to play basketball during the lockout is for chumps.
Steve Nash found better ways to occupy his time and make money.
Nash is following in the footsteps of John Wall and Amar’e Stoudemire by getting involved with the fashion world. Wall previously released a Reebok apparel collection, while Stoudemire went as far as to release a women’s clothing range.
Canadian-based company Indochino and Nash have teamed up to create a Steve Nash collection of custom suits. Indochino is one of the largest online retailers for custom suits, and their exposure should only increase by creating the Steve Nash collection.
From the looks of the collection, it looks quite fancy, complete with popped collar and all.
Why go overseas to play basketball when you can still make some cash from your home, with a vacation or two mixed in?
Nash has the right idea, there’s no question about that. He, Amar’e and Wall all know that it’s better to sell fashion.
Overseas basketball is for scrubs. These guys are All-Stars—they know better ways to find money.
Sorry Deron Williams, Nash and company got the better end of the lockout deal.
So I have read that Dhul Hijjah officially starts on October 28th. That’s Friday for people in the U.S. That means you FAST on Friday [ and it’s alright to Fast on Friday because you’re not singling out Friday, rather you’re fasting Friday, Saturday, & so on & so on]
When I’m exhausted, I remind myself why I’m doing all this. It’s not easy, but I have to remember that it’s all for His sake. He gave me opportunities that He didn’t give to others. My soul ended up in this body. And regardless of how angry I may be with Him for anything else - like the condition of everyone else, and where their souls ended up - I’m going to make damn sure I don’t waste the things he gave me. Because He didn’t have to, and He did anyway.
Fast on the day of Arafah. All sins of this year will be forgiven
There is no day on which Allaah frees people from the Fire more so than on the day of ‘Arafah. He comes close to those (people standing on ‘Arafah), and then He revels before His Angels saying: What are these people seeking.
